I realized too late that I forgot to put up a post here saying that I would be gone for about a week, but, well, I was gone for about a week. The wife and I took a vacation and headed west like so many before us, flying out to San Francisco for a week of relaxing, eating, and of course, winery visits. We had a great time and I’m already working on writing about our time there, so look for it early next week.
Ok, so not something wicked, but certainly something different from myself. For some time now I’ve been toying with the idea of getting other authors on here, and while I’ve had a few guest posts through the years, I’ve never had somebody else consistently posting on here that wasn’t me.
Today that all changes.
I regularly refer to my wife when writing here because, quite frankly, she drinks just about all of the wine with me. While we often do agree on things, sometimes we get different aromas and tastes out of wines, or sometimes she likes one that I don’t, and visa versa. In the past she didn’t have a voice, but today I’ve created a login for her so that she can come and share her thoughts on different wines that we drink, or even on wine in general.
So welcome my wife, April, to The Good Wine Guru, and be on the lookout for posts with a name that’s not “George” stuck to them.
So, raise your hand if you’ve registered for the 2011 Wine Bloggers Conference in Charlottesville, Virginia. Ok, I know you can’t actually see, but my hand is raised. While I wasn’t able to attend this years (Washington state is a bit far for me to travel to be honest), next years WBC will be right in my back yard.
If you’re a wine blogger and haven’t registered you should definitely get on it (here’s a link: WBC Registration), and while it’s still nearly a year out, taking place from July 22 to July 24, I’ll be sure to post updates leading up to, and definitely during the Conference. I’m supremely excited to participate, and I’m really looking forward to meeting more of my fellow wine writers.
